Media practitioners\u00a0interested in telling stories of\u00a0how people and communities are\u00a0recovering after experiencing difficult times can apply.<\/p>\n
The media plays an important role in telling stories about tragedies, trauma, and communities or individuals who are facing adversities. And yet, too often, these are the main stories we see and hear from the media. Images & Voices of Hope is working to change that \u2014 by providing media practitioners with an opportunity to tell stories<\/a> about how people and communities are finding hope, resiliency and restoration in the aftermath or midst of difficult times.<\/p>\n Images & Voices of Hope (ivoh<\/a>) is accepting applications for\u00a0its Restorative Narrative Fellowship.\u00a0Five fellows will be selected to spend six months telling restorative narratives<\/a> in various communities, starting in February\u00a02017.<\/p>\n The fellowship provides a\u00a0US$2,500 stipend; coaching from Jacqui Banaszynski<\/a>, a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist;\u00a0all-expenses paid trips to two fellows dialogues; involvement as a speaker at ivoh\u2019s annual media summit; and ongoing recognition and support from ivoh staff.<\/p>\n Fellows can choose to pursue one big project or a series of smaller projects.\u00a0Freelancers must find a home for their projects, while those employed at media organizations can work on their fellowship project with the intent of publishing it on their organization\u2019s website.<\/p>\n The deadline is Nov. 28.<\/p>\n For more information, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
