{"id":3172,"date":"2017-01-16T14:13:10","date_gmt":"2017-01-16T13:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/?p=3172"},"modified":"2026-07-05T20:18:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T19:18:36","slug":"youth-journalism-contest-open-worldwide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/2017\/01\/16\/youth-journalism-contest-open-worldwide\/","title":{"rendered":"Youth journalism contest open [Worldwide]"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Student reporters, cartoonists and photographers ages 19 and under can enter a contest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/youthjournalism.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Youth Journalism International<\/a> hosts a contest recognizing exceptional journalism done in English by students worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The top five honors include Journalist of the Year, Educator of the Year, the Courage in Journalism Award, the Jacinta Maria Bunnell Award for Commentary and the Frank Keegan &#8220;Take No Prisoners&#8221; Award for News.<\/p>\n<p>Other categories include multimedia, news, enterprise, profile, features, editorial, column writing, first-person essay, cartoons, reviews, sports and photography.<\/p>\n<p>Entries must have been published between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2016 in online or print publications. School publications, underground papers, blogs, online papers and other venues for journalism are all acceptable.<\/p>\n<p>The entry fee is US$20 for the top honors, US$10 for team entries and US$5 for individuals.
