The program is designed to introduce science journalists to oceanography and ocean engineering through seminars, laboratory visits\u00a0and brief field expeditions.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 fellowship will be held Sept. 10 to 15 in Woods Hole,\u00a0Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>All fellows receive a travel allowance and room and board for one week.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants should have at least two years of writing, producing or editing experience. Freelancers, book authors and writers from nontraditional media may apply, but should be able to show a substantial portfolio of work.
