{"id":4060,"date":"2017-11-27T22:42:30","date_gmt":"2017-11-27T21:42:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/?p=4060"},"modified":"2026-07-05T20:06:46","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T19:06:46","slug":"ezekwesili-ojo-ten-journalists-to-be-honoured-on-world-anti-corruption-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/2017\/11\/27\/ezekwesili-ojo-ten-journalists-to-be-honoured-on-world-anti-corruption-day\/","title":{"rendered":"EZEKWESILI, OJO, TEN JOURNALISTS TO BE HONOURED ON WORLD ANTI-CORRUPTION DAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former Minister of Education,\u00a0Obiageli Ezekwesili, the Executive Director of the Media Rights Agenda, Edetaen Ojo, as well as\u00a0ten distinguished journalists have been shortlisted for the 12th edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wscij.us10.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=f3edb4f73a52021a7257cf8f8&amp;id=a555878b70&amp;e=08ba3e3eca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting<\/a> scheduled to hold on the World Anti-Corruption day, Saturday, 9 December 2017, at the NECA House, Alausa, Lagos, by 4pm.<\/p>\n<p>Ezekwesili was nominated for\u00a0the Anti-Corruption Defender award. She is to be recognised for her untiring efforts to promote transparency and accountability as well as her unstinting commitment to the values of justice within and outside Nigeria. Ojo will be receiving the Lifetime Award for Journalistic Excellence for his leadership of issues that enshrine freedom of expression, including his dogged trailblazing effort at ensuring the passage and implementation of the Freedom of Information Act in Nigeria.<\/p>\n<p>The shortlist of journalists for the award includes, Ebere Ndukwu of <em>Ripples<\/em>, Ayodele Adeniran of <em>The Guardian<\/em>, Kolawole Aliu of <em>Leadership<\/em>, Soyombo Olufisayo of <em>The Cable<\/em>, Ayodele Ojo of <em>Daily Sun<\/em>, Adekunle Yusuf of <em>The Nation<\/em>, Kemi Busari of <em>Premium Times<\/em>, Chinwe Agbeze of <em>BusinessDay<\/em>, Ujorha Tadaferua of <em>Daily Trust<\/em> and Mojeed Alabi of <em>New Telegraph<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The award this year, has six categories \u2013 print, online, television, radio, photo, and editorial cartoon, as well a special prize\u00a0for food security and agriculture.
