{"id":4354,"date":"2018-08-27T14:18:12","date_gmt":"2018-08-27T13:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/?p=4354"},"modified":"2026-07-05T20:02:40","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T19:02:40","slug":"reporting-on-illicit-finance-in-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/2018\/08\/27\/reporting-on-illicit-finance-in-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"Reporting On Illicit Finance In Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Journalists who are fluent in English\u00a0and have at least two years of experience can apply\u00a0for the Wealth of Nations &#8211; Illicit finance (NORAD) program.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.trust.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thomson Reuters Foundation<\/a>, in partnership with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/iaj.org.za\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Institute for the Advancement of Journalism<\/a>,\u00a0is looking for\u00a0journalists based anywhere in Africa to take part in a long-term scheme that will develop their ability to report on illicit finance flows.<\/p>\n<p>Selected journalists will participate in an intensive training covering illicit finance, reporting on companies, accounts and budgets\u00a0and investigative techniques.\u00a0The first workshop will take place Oct. 15 to 19 in Johannesburg,\u00a0followed by a\u00a0workshop in early December.<\/p>\n<p>Participants\u00a0will propose one more story ideas and receive modest funding to realize their stories.
