AMDF received a report that both sides attacked journalists and destroyed working tools, including vehicles, belonging to journalists and media houses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 22.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'ProximaNova-Regular',serif; color: black;\">We call on Malian authorities to carry out thorough investigations on the attacks and apply appropriate sanctions on perpetrators of the acts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 22.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'ProximaNova-Regular',serif; color: black;\">Reports say, headquarters of the public media house, Office de Radio-Television du Mali (ORTM), was attacked in Bozola, and equipment worth several hundreds of millions of CFA francs belonging to the media house were vandalised, while some looted by demonstrators.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 22.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'ProximaNova-Regular',serif; color: black;\">AMDF also received a report that Hawa Kamissoko of Libert\u00e9 TV Group was arrested on 10<sup>th<\/sup> July by police officers while covering the protest \u2013 she was however released the following day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white; box-sizing: border-box; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 0.24s ease-in-out 0s; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial; visibility: visible; word-spacing: 0px; margin: 0cm 0cm 22.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'ProximaNova-Regular',serif; color: black;\">Another journalist, Moussa Kon\u00e9, was quoted saying, \u201cI was beaten with batons and my corrective lens crashed to the ground. It\u2019s the same contingent that killed the boy in Badalabougou.\u201d<b><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 22.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'ProximaNova-Regular',serif; color: black;\">Similarly, two journalists Harouna Ke\u00efta and Fanta Cisse of Groupe Ernergie\u00a0were reported to have been robbed of their phones, camera and wallets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 22.5pt 0cm;\"><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'ProximaNova-Regular',serif; color: black;\">In a statement, Editor-in Chief of Groupe Ernergie, Moussa Salif Diarra, condemns the attack on his colleagues saying, \u201cWe condemn with last energy this barbaric and despicable act while reassuring that legal proceedings will be initiated for the purpose of finding the perpetrators.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; background: white; margin: 0cm 0cm 22.5pt 0cm;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; font-family: 'ProximaNova-Regular',serif; color: black; font-weight: normal;\">On 10<sup>th<\/sup> July, anti-government protesters staged a massively attended protest that paralysed activities, leading to disruption of the internet and strong police crackdown.
